Curtis Whatley has long been pursuing a career in art. It started with a grade school set of oil paints and has evolved
into a love of glass. Along the way he has done sculpture, pen and ink, some fiber work and a long stint as a Chef.
He learned Lampworking (torch work) from Rae Friedman, Leah Fairbanks, Kim Osibin, Suellen Fowler and Jesse Kohl.
He has studied kiln worked glass with Mark Ditzler and Lucartha Kohler. He continues to take advanced classes at The Studio
of the Corning Museum of Glass. His work shows his fascination with the reflective and transmissive interaction
of light within the glass and the sensual allure of texture.
